The St John of God Church was built in the Gothic style in 1912 and was originally a Roman Catholic chapel serving a school in the area. The school is now long gone, but the chapel remains, and is now an interdenominational church.
The distinguishing feature of this spectacular church, apart from its expansive grounds and country setting, is its incorporation of the largest collection of Zettler Bros stained glass in the Southern Hemisphere. The superb windows depict a number of biblical scenes, and the artistry and subtle tonal changes in these remarkable works of art must be seen to be truly appreciated. Cleverly designed, the church easily caters for a small, intimate gathering of family and guests, or a large scale wedding incorporating up to 300 guests.
